The 2001 Liberia 20 Dollars John Bull silver coin celebrates a landmark of early American railway history and belongs to the “Legends of the Rails” theme. Certified PCGS PR67DCAM, this Proof issue features the famous John Bull steam locomotive in crisp frosted relief against deeply mirrored fields. The railway side depicts the pioneering engine in profile on tracks, with its tall smokestack, boiler, cab, large driving wheels, smaller front wheels, connecting structures and an impressive cloud of steam billowing overhead. John Bull was built in England and brought to the United States in 1831 for the Camden and Amboy Railroad, becoming one of the best-known surviving early steam locomotives. The reverse carries Liberia’s detailed national coat of arms: a sailing ship on the sea, palm tree, rising sun, flying bird and plow, surrounded by ribbons, the 2001 date and denomination. Combining transport history, industrial heritage and superb Deep Cameo presentation, this certified silver coin is an appealing addition to railway and world numismatic collections.
