The 1992 Liberia 10 Dollars “Ukyo Katayama” KM-88 silver coin celebrates Japanese Formula One driver Ukyo Katayama and the excitement of international motor racing. The reverse combines a portrait of Katayama with a dramatic front three-quarter view of a Formula One racing car, showing the open cockpit, driver, exposed wheels, front wing and aerodynamic bodywork. Behind the car appears a pit-board-style panel marked “VENTURI” and a waving flag, while a laurel branch and $10 denomination complete the composition. Katayama entered Formula One in 1992 with the Venturi Larrousse team and later became particularly associated with Tyrrell. The obverse displays Liberia’s coat of arms with a three-masted sailing ship, palm tree, rising sun, flying bird, plow, shield and ribbons, together with the 1992 date and 10 Dollars denomination. Struck in fine silver and certified NGC PF69, this high-grade KM-88 issue combines motorsport history, Japanese sporting heritage and collectible world coinage, making it an excellent choice for Formula One and racing enthusiasts.
