The 1993 Liberia 10 Dollars is a Proof silver commemorative from the Preserve Planet Earth theme, featuring Corythosaurus, one of the distinctive crested dinosaurs of the Late Cretaceous period. Certified PCGS PR68, the coin presents the prehistoric animal standing upright in profile, with its characteristic helmet-like cranial crest, long curved tail, powerful hind legs, smaller forelimbs, clawed feet and finely textured skin. The Corythosaurus name, Preserve Planet Earth theme and $10 denomination surround the dramatic central figure. The opposite side displays Liberia’s national coat of arms with a three-masted sailing ship on the sea, palm tree, rising sun, flying bird and plow, all enclosed by an ornamental shield and flowing ribbons. The divided 1993 date, 10 Dollars denomination and fine silver marking complete the design. Corythosaurus was a plant-eating hadrosaur known from fossils discovered in North America and is especially recognizable by its elaborate head crest. Combining paleontology, prehistoric wildlife and certified Proof quality, this unusual silver coin is a fascinating addition to dinosaur and world numismatic collections.
