The 2003 Liberia 10 Dollars is a striking Proof silver coin dedicated to the Gorch Fock, the famous German Navy sail-training ship and a classic symbol of maritime tradition. The ship side presents the elegant three-masted barque under full sail, shown cutting through textured sea waves. Fine details reveal the tall masts, multiple yards, billowing square and triangular sails, intricate rigging, hull, deck structures and bow, framed by the GORCH FOCK legend, 10 DOLLARS denomination, 2003 date and a dotted border. The opposite side displays Liberia’s national coat of arms with another three-masted sailing vessel at sea, a palm tree, rising sun, flying bird and plow, surrounded by ornamental ribbons bearing the national motto and Republic of Liberia name. Commissioned in 1958, Gorch Fock has served for decades in the training of German naval officer candidates and represented Germany on international voyages. The combination of maritime history, detailed sailing-ship artwork and reflective Proof finish makes this silver issue especially appealing to collectors of ships, naval heritage and world coins.
