Lithuania 5 litai UNICEF Save the Children Child Year PR64 PCGS silver coin 1998

The 1998 Lithuania 5 Litai silver Proof coin was issued in support of UNICEF and the international cause of protecting children, making it a meaningful humanitarian-themed collectible. The main design shows a seated young child holding a small pinwheel aloft, a simple image evoking childhood, play and hope. Beside the figure appears the UNICEF emblem with a mother-and-child symbol framed by olive branches, while the surrounding design emphasizes the theme of the world’s children. The opposite side presents Lithuania through national and historic imagery: the Vytis coat of arms with an armored knight on horseback, Gediminas’ Tower rising above a stylized wooded hill, and a small flag flying from the tower. The country name, 5 Litai denomination and 1998 date complete the composition. Struck in silver with a Proof Deep Cameo finish, this example is certified PCGS PR64DCAM. Its combination of childhood symbolism, UNICEF history, Lithuanian heritage and architecture gives the coin broad appeal to collectors of humanitarian, European and certified silver issues.
