Lithuania 10 litu Kaunas City View Architecture PR69 PCGS proof CuNi coin 1999

The 1999 Lithuania 10 Litu Kaunas commemorative coin celebrates one of the country’s most important historic cities and is certified PCGS PR69DCAM. Struck in CuNi with brilliant Proof surfaces, the reverse presents a compact architectural panorama of Kaunas. Historic church towers, spires, civic buildings, roofs and modern structures form a layered city skyline, while the central shield displays the traditional Kaunas emblem of a standing aurochs with a cross between its horns. The name KAUNAS crowns the composition. The obverse features Lithuania’s national Vytis emblem: an armored mounted knight rides a dynamic horse while raising a sword and carrying a shield with the double cross. Details include the horse’s bridle, saddle and flowing tail, the rider’s armor, sword and shield, accompanied by LIETUVA, the 10 Litu denomination and 1999 date. Kaunas has long been a major Lithuanian center of culture, commerce and architecture. Combining cityscape, heraldry and national symbolism with an impressive PR69DCAM grade, this certified Proof is an appealing choice for collectors of Lithuania, European cities and architectural coins.
