Coins with some oxides, a CoA, a case (please, check photos).
The 1966 Lesotho Independence set brings together four historic silver Proof coins: 5, 10, 20 and 50 Lisente, issued in the year the Kingdom of Lesotho achieved independence. Each obverse features a detailed right-facing portrait of Moshoeshoe I, founder of the Basotho nation, shown with beard, traditional patterned headwear, feather, earring and neck ornament, surrounded by the independence theme. The reverses display Lesotho’s elaborate national coat of arms: a central Basotho shield with a crocodile motif, traditional weapons rising behind it, two rearing horses as supporters, a Basotho hat and additional symbolic elements, all above the national motto ribbon. Individual denominations, the date 1966, stars and fine beaded borders complete the designs. Moshoeshoe I united Basotho communities during the 19th century and established the foundations of modern Lesotho. With visible natural toning and four denominations preserved together, this silver Proof set offers a compelling combination of African independence history, national symbolism and classic numismatic artistry.
