The 1930 Latvia Agriculture Ministry silver medal, catalogued as Bartels-1329, is a remarkable interwar award celebrating Latvian agriculture, rural labor and national prosperity. One side presents a richly detailed farming scene: a farmer guides a horse-drawn plough across cultivated fields beneath radiating sunlight, while the foreground is filled with harvested sheaves, grain, vegetables, fruits, berries, flowers and agricultural produce. The inscription “PAR CENTĪBU” emphasizes merit and diligence. The opposite side displays Latvia’s national coat of arms with a rising sun, three stars, lion and griffin supporters, surrounded by abundant grain ears and decorative ribbons. The Agriculture Ministry inscription completes this elaborate heraldic composition. Dated 1930 and struck in silver, the medal is certified PCGS MS62. Its combination of horse, farmer, plough, harvest imagery and national heraldry makes it a distinctive artifact of Latvia’s First Republic era and an appealing piece for collectors of Baltic history and agricultural medals.
