The Latvia 5 Euro Ainazi Nautical School silver coin commemorates one of the most important institutions in Latvian maritime history. The obverse is designed as a detailed compass rose, its sharply radiating directional points surrounding a central circle, with the north point highlighted in red. The dates 1864 and 2014 and references to Ainazi and the nautical school frame the composition. The reverse places the 5 EURO denomination at the center, surrounded by several historic sailing ships shown from different angles, with detailed masts, rigging, yards and sails, all enclosed by a wave-like maritime border. Founded in Ainazi in 1864, the nautical school played a major role in educating Latvian and Estonian seafarers and supporting the development of Baltic navigation and merchant shipping. Struck in silver with a colorized Proof finish, this example is certified NGC PF69 Ultra Cameo. A superb collectible combining ships, navigation, education and Baltic maritime heritage.
