The Laos 5,000 Kip 1975 Savang Vatthana – Wat Phra Kio silver Proof coin combines royal history with the architectural heritage of Vientiane. One side presents a right-facing portrait of King Savang Vatthana in formal attire with an ornate collar. Beneath the portrait is a ceremonial composition centered on an elephant, accompanied by a radiant emblem and stylized traditional objects. The opposite side depicts Wat Phra Kio, also known as Haw Phra Kaew, with remarkable architectural detail: its sweeping multi-tiered roof, pointed finials, columns, stairways, balustrades and elevated terrace are carefully rendered. The date, National Bank reference, 5,000 Kip denomination and 925 silver mark complete the design. Savang Vatthana was the last king of Laos, while Haw Phra Kaew is one of Vientiane’s important historic religious buildings and today serves as a museum. Struck in .925 silver with Proof finish, this 1975 issue is an attractive choice for collectors of Lao history, Asian architecture, royalty and Buddhist heritage.
