The Laos 5,000 Kip 1975 Savang Vatthana – Laotian Maiden silver Proof coin captures royal history and traditional Lao culture in a striking two-portrait design. One side depicts a young Laotian woman facing right, her hair arranged in an elaborate high bun, with a long pendant earring, necklace and finely decorated traditional garment. The date 1975, National Bank reference, denomination and 925 silver fineness mark complete the composition. The opposite side portrays King Savang Vatthana facing right in formal attire, with detailed collar decoration. Below appears an elephant beneath a radiant ceremonial emblem, flanked by stylized traditional objects and architectural forms. Savang Vatthana was the last king of Laos, reigning from 1959 until the abolition of the monarchy in 1975, making the issue especially evocative of a major historical transition. Its Proof surfaces, detailed relief and cultural imagery make this silver coin highly appealing for collectors of Laos, Asian royalty, women on coins and world history.
