Laos 50 Kip 1985 four-coin silver set commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, marking the decade from 1975 to 1985. Each coin presents a different cultural or historical landmark: two designs feature ornate Buddhist temple complexes with tall central spires, tiered roofs, surrounding palms and decorative foliage; another depicts the celebrated Plain of Jars, with ancient stone jars arranged across a grassy landscape beneath mountain outlines; and the fourth shows a historic temple or sanctuary with steps, an elaborate entrance façade and surrounding rocks. Each design is framed by leafy ornaments and the large 50 denomination. The common reverse displays the historic state emblem with rice ears, agricultural fields, road, trees, industrial elements, cogwheel, ribbons, five-pointed star and hammer-and-sickle, accompanied by the anniversary dates 1975–1985. This coordinated silver set combines architecture, archaeology, Buddhism, national heritage and Lao history in four distinctive designs, making it an attractive collectible ensemble.
