The Laos 500 Kip 2021 silver coin commemorates the 600th anniversary of Beijing’s Forbidden City, one of the world’s most celebrated imperial architectural complexes. Struck in .999 fine silver with a Proof finish and certified PCGS PR67, it combines Chinese history with Lao numismatics. One side depicts a bearded imperial figure in traditional robes, with a circular dragon motif on his chest and ornate belt, standing before the monumental façade, tiled roofs, gates, balustrades and paved courtyard of the Forbidden City. The anniversary theme, 2021 date and fine-silver designation complete the composition. The opposite side features a detailed Lao architectural landmark dominated by a soaring central stupa, surrounded by smaller spires, an ornate entrance gate, walls, lamps and vegetation, with the Bank of the Lao PDR designation and 500 Kip denomination. A fascinating crossover collectible for enthusiasts of Asian history, imperial China and architectural coinage.
