The Jamaica 25 Dollars Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip Jubilee silver coin, issued in 1997, commemorates the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, celebrating fifty years of marriage from 1947 to 1997. The reverse features finely engraved portraits of the royal couple, with Prince Philip in the foreground and Queen Elizabeth II beside him. Behind them appears an image of Dartmouth, recalling the location where the future Queen first met Prince Philip in 1939. A gilded Royal Coat of Arms adds a striking accent, while the dates 1947–1997 mark the jubilee milestone. The obverse displays the Jamaican coat of arms, including the crocodile crest, shield with five pineapples, an Arawak woman holding a basket of fruit, an Arawak man with a spear, the national motto “Out of Many, One People,” together with the country name and denomination. Struck in silver with an elegant proof finish, this commemorative issue is an attractive collectible celebrating royal history and one of the longest-lasting royal marriages of the twentieth century.
