This 1990 Iraq 5 Dinars, KM#171, is a bronze commemorative coin of the Republic of Iraq, certified PCGS MS 64. The obverse presents a stylized palm tree rising prominently at the center, its textured trunk supporting a broad crown of palm fronds. Above it, two monumental arms extend inward holding raised swords whose blades meet at the top, forming the distinctive Victory Arch composition. Arabic dates appear beside the palm, while a finely patterned border surrounds the design. The reverse features the large central Arabic numeral 5 within concentric circles, framed by Arabic inscriptions, the denomination and two symmetrical geometric floral ornaments; a toothed border completes the composition. Issued in 1990, the coin reflects Iraqi national and military symbolism of its period, with the Victory Arch monument represented alongside the palm, a traditional regional symbol. Its warm bronze surfaces, unusual architectural imagery and PCGS MS 64 certification make this KM#171 issue an interesting addition to modern Iraqi and Middle Eastern collections.
