This 1913 Great Britain Half Crown of George V, KM#818 and S-4011, is a classic silver coin from the pre-World War I British monarchy, certified PCGS MS 63. The obverse features the left-facing bare-headed portrait of King George V, with his distinctive moustache and beard, surrounded by the royal Latin legend and a finely beaded border. The reverse displays an elaborate crowned quartered shield of the United Kingdom: three lions for England, the Scottish lion, Irish harp, and three additional English lions. The shield is encircled by the Garter with its ribbon and motto, while the royal crown rises prominently above. The denomination HALF CROWN and date 1913 complete the composition. George V reigned from 1910 to 1936, overseeing Britain through World War I and a period of profound political and social change. Struck in .925 sterling silver and preserved in Mint State, this attractive PCGS MS 63 example combines heraldry, royal history and classic British coinage in one collectible.
