The 2005 Alderney 5 Pounds Trafalgar Coloured KM-79a silver Proof coin, certified PCGS PR70, commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar's 200th anniversary. The reverse features five beautifully coloured naval signal flags representing the famous message issued by Admiral Horatio Nelson before the battle, framed by a twisted rope border. The flags display striking blue, white, red, and yellow patterns against brilliant mirrored silver. The obverse portrays Queen Elizabeth II wearing an ornate crown, pearl earrings, and a necklace, with finely sculpted hair and the 2005 date. The Battle of Trafalgar, fought in 1805, secured a decisive British naval victory against the combined French and Spanish fleets, although Nelson lost his life. Struck in silver with exceptional Proof quality, this PCGS PR70 specimen combines historical significance, maritime symbolism, and vivid colour. An outstanding addition to any naval history or world coin collection.
