This Prussia 1 Pfennig coin, minted in 1855 during the reign of King Frederick William IV, is a classic example of mid-19th century German copper coinage. Representing the Kingdom of Prussia, it reflects a period of political consolidation and economic development prior to German unification.
The obverse features a crowned heraldic composition with a detailed royal crown above a shield bearing the iconic Prussian eagle. The eagle is depicted with outstretched wings, holding symbolic elements in its talons, while its feathers and posture are carefully engraved, conveying strength and authority. The surrounding border is decorated with a dotted rim that frames the design harmoniously.
On the reverse, the denomination is prominently displayed at the center, accompanied by the date and mintmark below. The layout is clean and balanced, with bold numerals and lettering that stand out against the smooth background. A beaded border runs along the edge, enhancing the coin’s symmetry and visual appeal.
Struck in copper and preserved in PCGS MS64 condition, this coin offers excellent detail and attractive original surfaces. It is a fine collectible for enthusiasts of German states coinage and historical European numismatics.
