This Germany Nuremberg 1 Thaler silver restrike, issued in 1981 after the historic 1763 SF design, is graded SP69 by PCGS and cataloged as Dav-2488. The obverse portrays a crowned female allegory of Nuremberg holding a leafy branch beside an ornate pedestal topped with a flaming urn. A heraldic shield, lion figure, flowing robes, Latin inscription, and the original date 1763 enrich the composition. The reverse features a magnificent crowned double-headed imperial eagle with outstretched feathered wings, curved necks, and detailed beaks. Its central crowned shield displays diagonal heraldic bands, a decorated branch, and six circular emblems, surrounded by elaborate ornamental chains and flowing feathers. The 1981 restrike date appears below. Nuremberg was an important free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire, celebrated for its commerce, craftsmanship, and coinage. This superb PCGS SP69 silver specimen preserves an impressive example of historic German medallic artistry.
