The Georgia 2 tetri coin, issued in 1993, is part of the first series of national currency introduced after the country regained independence. This UNC lot of 1500 coins (total face value 30 lari) represents an important chapter in modern Georgian monetary history, combining symbolic design with historical significance.
The obverse features a stylized eagle standing with wings partially spread, a traditional emblem of strength and vigilance. Below the bird is the denomination “2” along with Georgian script, all enclosed within a decorative wreath-like border. The fine detailing of the feathers, talons, and surrounding ornamentation reflects early post-independence mint artistry.
The reverse displays the Borjgali, an ancient Georgian solar symbol composed of swirling arms radiating from the center. Around it runs the inscription “Republic of Georgia” in English and Georgian, with the date “1993” divided on either side. The dynamic spiral conveys eternity, energy, and cultural continuity, while the circular border enhances the coin’s balanced composition.
Struck in aluminum and preserved in uncirculated condition, these coins retain their original mint luster. This large bulk lot is ideal for collectors, dealers, or educational purposes, offering both historical value and visual appeal.
