The France 50 Francs Hercules KM-941, Gad-882, F-427 silver coin, struck in 1977 and certified PCGS MS67, is one of the most iconic modern French issues. Designed after Augustin Dupré’s celebrated artwork, it embodies the ideals of the French Republic through timeless classical symbolism. The obverse features the powerful figure of Hercules standing between two allegorical female figures representing Liberty and Equality. Liberty holds a fasces topped with a Phrygian cap, while Equality carries a balance scale. The surrounding inscription “LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ”, the engraver’s signature Dupré, and the finely beaded rim complete the elegant composition. The reverse displays the denomination 50 FRANCS within a detailed wreath combining olive and oak branches, tied with a ribbon, surrounded by the inscription RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE, the date 1977, stars, mintmarks, and a decorative denticle border. Struck in silver and preserved in outstanding Mint State 67 condition by PCGS, this coin is prized for its sharp details, brilliant luster, and enduring patriotic symbolism, making it an exceptional addition to any collection of French and European numismatics.
