This 1975 France 50 Francs Hercules silver coin, KM-941.1, Gad-882 and F-427, is a classic Fifth Republic issue certified MS 67 by PCGS. Struck in .900 silver, it reproduces Augustin Dupré’s celebrated Hercules design, one of the most recognizable allegorical compositions in French numismatics. One side depicts a powerful standing Hercules between two robed female figures representing Liberty and Equality. Liberty holds a staff topped by a Phrygian cap, while Equality extends a balance scale; the three figures join hands beneath the motto “LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ,” with a small branch and Dupré’s signature completing the scene. The opposite side displays the large denomination “50 FRANCS” framed by finely detailed olive and oak branches tied with a ribbon. “REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE,” the 1975 date, star, dots and small mint marks surround the wreath. The symbolism connects this modern silver issue with France’s historic republican coinage. Its outstanding PCGS MS 67 certification adds strong appeal for collectors of French silver, Hercules designs and high-grade world coins.
