The rare coin set of American micro nation Iipay was unofficially released in 2012. The coins minted in various metal alloys have dollar denominations, but are not means of payment. Seven pieces are dedicated to the native Indian tribe Iipay living in California in Santa Ysabel Reservation. They are recognized as indigenous nation of USA, so the tribe has chairperson and its own tribal council. The coins show different sides of Iipay Indians’ life, such as crafts, basketry, folk medicine, etc. All images are signed in two languages, English and Iipay. The denominations are indicated on the same sides of the coins along the rims, prolonged by the patterned borders. All the inscriptions on the pieces are made in stylized script. The opposite sides of the coins have the same designs. There are traditional Indian images depicted, including the big tree in the center. The name of the Indian nation is mentioned in the inscription placed along the upper rim of the coin.
