The large set of souvenir bimetallic coins is dedicated to the former French colonies in Africa. The pieces made of non-precious metals commemorate the income of Africans in the victory in World War I. All coins have the same image on one of their sides showing the portrait of an African troop with the years 1914-2014 below it. The French inscriptions along the rim read “Honor to Africans Who Fell in a Battle in Honor of France” and “The Centenary of the First World War”. The opposite surfaces of the coins bear the features of different African countries, which participated in WWI along with France. The images show traditional African masks and local animals; the conditional denomination of 1 F and the year of issue are indicated below images. The names of the African territories are minted along the upper rim above the reliefs.
