The set of nine collectible coins of Bonaire is dedicated to the local flora. The former colony, Bonaire Island nowadays is the special municipality of the Netherlands, although the official currency of the territory is US dollar. The island is located in the Caribbean Sea near the coast of South America. The souvenir coins of Bonaire have the dollar denomination, but the Dutch inscriptions on them. The reverse sides of the coins bear the relief images of plants growing on Bonaire, the year of issue and the face values of the pieces indicated in dollars and cents. The opposite sides of the coins show the Coat of Arms of Bonaire on the right side of the surface and the profile portrait of the Dutch Queen on the left side. The numbers of denomination are placed here under the emblem of the island.
