This 1892 German East Africa 1 pesa copper coin, KM-1, J-710, was issued during the reign of Emperor Wilhelm II and is certified PCGS MS62. The obverse features the crowned Imperial German eagle with outstretched wings, detailed feathers, heraldic shield on its breast, and ornate tail plumage. The surrounding inscription identifies the German East Africa Company, with the date 1892 below. The reverse displays the denomination in Arabic script, accompanied by the Islamic year 1309, enclosed within a circular border and an elegant wreath of laurel branches and leaves. German East Africa was a colonial territory in present-day Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi, where the German East Africa Company initially administered colonial affairs. This copper issue reflects the region's complex monetary and colonial history. Its historical design and PCGS MS62 certification make it an appealing addition to world coin collections.
