A coin with some oxides, a capsule (please, check photos).
The 1972 Czechoslovakia 100 korun silver coin is a rare Trial Essai issue dedicated to Josef Václav Myslbek (1848–1922), one of the most important Czech sculptors and a leading figure of monumental art in Prague. Myslbek is best known for his statue of Saint Wenceslas in Wenceslas Square, a national symbol of Czech identity.
The obverse features a powerful left-facing portrait of J. V. Myslbek with detailed beard, facial features, and sculptor’s profile. Beside him appears a circular medallion depicting allegorical figures in relief — a classical female figure and children in dynamic poses — referencing his sculptural work. The year 1872–1972 marks the centenary, with his name and the denomination “100” below. The reverse displays a large heraldic shield with the stylized Czech lion, surrounded by the state inscription. At the bottom, an architectural motif of arches and towers evokes Prague’s historic skyline.
Struck in silver in Trial Essai UNC quality, this piece shows crisp relief and original surfaces. A scarce artistic commemorative honoring Czech sculpture and national heritage — an outstanding addition for collectors of rare Czechoslovak silver coins.
