The souvenir rectangular token covered with gold is dedicated to the great artist and scientist of Renaissance Leonardo da Vinci and his works. Both sides of the bar have the ornamented borders in the corresponding style of High Renaissance. The central images of the token’s surfaces show the works of the famous Italian master. His most popular painting of Mona Lisa is depicted in relief on one side of the token while the opposite surface contains the effigy of the other famous picture by him – an ink drawing of the Vitruvian Man. The other images next to the Vitruvian Man are Leonardo’s self-portrait (presumed) and his personal signature. The figure of the Vitruvian Man shows the results of the artist’s studies in anatomy and represents the ideal proportions of the human body. The rest of the surface is given for the images of Leonardo’s flying engines.
