A coin with some micro scratches and oxides, a capsule, a CoA, a case (please, check photos).
The Cook Islands 5 Dollars 2013 silver coin from the Russian Icons series is dedicated to St. Seraphim of Sarov, one of the most revered Orthodox saints, known for his deep spirituality, humility and life of prayer. This beautifully designed rectangular issue presents a sacred icon in rich color and gilded detail.
The reverse depicts St. Seraphim with a gentle, contemplative expression, his right hand placed over his chest. He wears a dark monastic robe and a stole adorned with crosses. A radiant halo with ornamental detailing surrounds his head, while an intricate golden frame with traditional scrollwork borders the icon. In the background, a monastery silhouette is finely engraved. The lower part features a Cyrillic inscription with his name and the year “2013.”
The obverse bears the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, along with the inscriptions “COOK ISLANDS,” “5 DOLLARS,” and “ELIZABETH II.”
Struck in .925 silver with a Proof finish and enhanced with gilded elements, this coin combines detailed engraving and vibrant color. A meaningful piece of religious art and a distinguished addition to any world coin or Orthodox icon collection.
