This Colombia 10,000 Pesos silver coin, issued in 1991, belongs to the first Ibero-American commemorative series and honors the historic Santa Fe–Bogotá Mint, founded in 1620. KM-284 was struck in .925 silver with a Proof finish and a mintage of 70,000. The reverse presents a detailed perspective view of the historic Casa de Moneda building, showing its tiled roof, windows, balconies, entrance and paved surroundings. The inscriptions identify the mint and its founding year, while “ENCUENTRO DE DOS MUNDOS” and the dates 1492–1992 frame the composition. The obverse centers Colombia’s national coat of arms with an eagle above the shield, surrounded by a remarkable ring of heraldic emblems representing participating Ibero-American nations. The country name and 10,000 Pesos denomination complete this richly symbolic design. An attractive collectible combining colonial minting history, architecture, heraldry and Ibero-American numismatics.
