Chile 1 Peso 1860 So KM-133 is a historic gold .900 circulation coin from the early Republic, struck at the Santiago Mint and representing the ideals of the developing Chilean state. The obverse features an allegorical Standing Liberty in classical drapery, shown beside architectural and symbolic elements, with a cornucopia overflowing with produce at her feet and a small star in the field. The reverse places the 1 Peso denomination and 1860 date at the center of an elegant wreath formed from detailed leafy branches, surrounded by the national equality motto. A beaded border frames both sides. The “So” mintmark identifies Santiago. This type was issued from 1860 to 1864, while the 1860 issue had a reported mintage of 156,000 pieces. Its combination of classic republican symbolism, intricate botanical decoration, genuine 19th-century character and precious-metal composition makes it a desirable addition to collections of Chilean, Latin American and historical world gold coins.
