The collectible silver 1-dollar coin minted by the Cook Islands in 2011 is a part of the Lunar series. The represented rectangular piece depicts the image related to the year of the Rabbit. The 2011 minting year of the bar coincides with the Rabbit year according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The piece is made of the pure silver and bears the colored picture of two rabbits against the relief background. The latter shows the traditional Asian landscape which is common for the Orient countries where the Lunar horoscope came from. There are the bamboo and blooming branches aside the animals; the Chinese character meaning the name of the lunar patron of the year is placed next to them. The opposite side of the piece is designed in traditional manner with the Queen’s likeness and the legends minted around it by the circle. They explain the name of the issuing state and the denomination of the coin.
