The Cook Islands’ coin is dedicated to the Russian fire engine. The piece minted in 2006 shows the colored image of the vehicle on its reverse side. The model of the fire engine is AA-60 which is designed for the airfields. The fire engines of this type due to some details of their construction are used to fight the fire in aircraft and airport buildings as well. The fire engine is surrounded be the semicircular inscriptions which read the model and the year of its introduction (1973) and the name of the series. The collectible piece is a part of the Fire Engines of the World series. The border along the rim of the coin is designed in the shape of the firefighter’s hose. The other side of the piece shows the effigy of the British Queen and the year of mintage. The name of the monarch is placed there as well along with the name of the issuing territories.
