Burundi 5000 Francs, 2015, is a modern high-grade silver commemorative coin from the History of Aviation series, dedicated to the iconic French military aircraft Amiot 143. This issue honors early aviation engineering and the pioneering era of aerial transport and defense.
The reverse presents a dynamic colored depiction of the Amiot 143 aircraft in flight, shown from a three-quarter frontal angle against a textured cloud background. The plane’s twin engines, landing gear, wings, cockpit glazing, and fuselage details are clearly rendered, combining color application with frosted and mirrored silver surfaces. Beneath the aircraft appears the inscription “AMIOT 143”, while along the lower rim runs “HISTORY OF AVIATION”, accompanied by a stylized aviation emblem resembling a propeller and wings. A fine circular scale-like border enhances the technical aesthetic of the design.
The obverse features the coat of arms of the Republic of Burundi, centrally positioned. The emblem includes a shield with a lion head, ceremonial elements, and a ribbon bearing the national motto “UNITE • TRAVAIL • PROGRÈS”. Surrounding inscriptions read “REPUBLIKA Y’UBURUNDI” and “IBANKI YA REPUBLIKA Y’UBURUNDI”, with the year 2015 placed along the rim.
Struck in silver with Proof Deep Cameo quality, this coin is certified PCGS PR70 DCAM, the highest possible grade. A flawless and visually striking piece for aviation and modern numismatic collections.
