The 1913 Bulgaria 10 Stotinki “Ferdinand I” coin represents the refined heraldic style of the Bulgarian Kingdom during the reign of Tsar Ferdinand I, a period marked by political consolidation and cultural development. The obverse displays the royal coat of arms: a crowned shield bearing the iconic rampant lion, symbol of bravery and sovereignty. Above the crest rises the elaborate royal crown with a cross, while the surrounding inscription “България – Съединението прави силата” (“Unity Makes Strength”) expresses the national motto. A dotted beaded rim frames the entire composition.
The reverse features a beautifully detailed wreath formed from two branches: oak leaves on the left and laurel and wheat on the right, tied together at the base by blooming roses. At the center, the inscription 10 СТОТИНКИ appears in bold lettering, with the year 1913 beneath it. The textured background enhances the depth of the relief, making the wreath and numerals stand out clearly.
Certified PCGS MS62, this copper-nickel issue shows strong strike definition and pleasing natural toning typical for early 20th-century Bulgarian coinage. It is an excellent addition for collectors interested in royal-era numismatics, Balkan history and classic European heraldic designs.
