The Bulgaria 5 Stotinki 1913 coin is a refined representative of Bulgarian royal circulation coinage from the reign of King Ferdinand I. Issued in 1913 with a face value of five stotinki, this KM-24 type reflects the mature visual style of the Kingdom of Bulgaria, where heraldry, balance, and national symbolism played a central role in everyday coin design.
The obverse features the crowned Bulgarian coat of arms placed prominently at the center. A heraldic lion, standing upright in a dynamic pose, is engraved on a vertically striped shield, symbolizing power, independence, and state continuity. Above the shield rises the royal crown, detailed with arches and a cross, emphasizing monarchical authority. The circular inscription is interrupted by small star symbols on both sides, while a neat beaded border frames the entire composition.
On the reverse, the denomination five stotinki is clearly engraved at the center, with the date 1913 positioned below. The central elements are surrounded by an elegant wreath composed of laurel and oak branches, representing victory, strength, and endurance. At the base of the wreath, a ribbon tied into a bow is accompanied by floral ornaments, adding a decorative and symmetrical finish. A dotted rim completes the design.
Struck in copper-nickel, this coin is preserved in Mint State 65 condition and certified by PCGS, showing strong luster, crisp relief, and minimal marks. As a high-grade example of Bulgaria’s monarchy-era coinage, it holds strong appeal for collectors of European and Balkan numismatics.
