The 2001 Bulgaria 10 Leva “Winter Olympic Games – Ski Jumper” silver coin celebrates the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics, capturing the elegance and precision of ski jumping. The obverse features a ski jumper in mid-flight, leaning forward over elongated skis in a streamlined aerodynamic pose. The athlete’s helmet, goggles, suit and body tension are carefully sculpted. Behind him is a bold geometric pattern of snowflakes, with the inscription “XIX Зимни Олимпийски Игри” curving along the rim. At the bottom appears the date 2002, marking the Olympic year.
The reverse presents the emblem of the Bulgarian National Bank, supported by two heraldic lions standing beside a shield adorned with the year 1879. Surrounding the coat of arms is the inscription Българска народна банка, while the date 2001 and denomination 10 ЛЕВА are displayed below. The polished proof fields and frosted reliefs create a striking visual contrast.
Struck in silver with a brilliant Proof finish and certified PCGS PR69DCAM, this coin offers near-perfect surfaces and razor-sharp detail. It is an excellent piece for collectors of Winter Olympic themes, Bulgarian commemoratives and high-grade modern silver issues.
