The Belgium 50 Francs 1935 silver coin was issued to celebrate the centenary of the Belgian railways and the Brussels International Exposition. The obverse features a striking image of a medieval knight in full armor holding a raised sword, a symbol of national strength and unity. To the sides of the figure appears the large denomination “50 FR,” while the legend “ROYAUME DE BELGIQUE – EXPOSITION DE BRUXELLES” encircles the design. Below, a dragon lies defeated beneath the knight’s feet, enhancing the allegorical meaning of progress overcoming obstacles. The reverse depicts an impressive view of the monumental building of the National Railway headquarters in Brussels, with its tall vertical lines and strong architectural presence. The inscription “CENTENAIRE DES CHEMINS DE FER BELGES” runs around the upper rim, flanked by the dual dates 1835–1935, marking 100 years since the opening of Belgium’s first railway line, one of the earliest in continental Europe. Struck in silver and certified MS64 by PCGS, this coin combines outstanding preservation with historical and artistic value. It is a must-have piece for collectors of Belgian commemoratives, transportation history, and world exposition issues.
