The 2008 Belarus 20 Rubles silver coin “Lipichanskaya Pushcha. Common Kingfisher (Ліпічанская пушча. Звычайны зімародак)” celebrates the unique beauty of one of Belarus’s protected reserves. On the reverse is the Common Kingfisher (Звычайны зімародак), depicted perched on a branch near the water. Its sharp beak, detailed plumage, and concentrated gaze are rendered with exquisite engraving. Around it we see reeds, the distant tree line, and a traditional ornamental sign, while the inscription “Звычайны зімародак” adds authenticity. The obverse displays the national emblem of the Republic of Belarus, inscriptions “РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ,” “20 РУБЛЁЎ,” the hallmark Ag 925, and the year 2008. The central element is the Martagon Lily (лілея кучаравая), shown against a geometric ornamental background symbolizing the flora of the reserve. Struck in sterling silver Ag 925 with Proof quality, this issue has been graded PR69 by PCGS, confirming its near-perfect preservation. Released within the “Wildlife” series, the coin combines numismatic rarity with ecological symbolism, making it a valuable addition to any collection.
