The Belarus 20 Rubles silver coin 2004 is dedicated to the traditional holiday Kupalle (Kupala Night), celebrated with ancient Slavic rituals linked to nature, fire, and midsummer traditions. The obverse features the national emblem of the Republic of Belarus, inscriptions “РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ,” “ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ,” the year “2004,” and the hallmark “Ag 925.” The central design shows a large ornamental star, composed of geometric patterns inspired by folk embroidery, surrounded by smaller stars and a decorative border. The reverse presents a symbolic scene: a large fern flower with leaves, at its heart a red crystal insert, symbolizing the legendary flower that blooms only on Kupala Night. Around the background are rural landscapes, fields, and forest motifs, framed with traditional ornamentation. At the bottom, the inscription “КУПАЛЛЕ” emphasizes the theme. Struck in sterling silver, this issue is graded PCGS MS69 and stands out for its folkloric symbolism and detailed artistic work.
