The 2005 Belarus 20 Roubles silver coin “Grodno” from the series Cities of Belarus celebrates one of the country’s most ancient and picturesque cities. The obverse bears the state emblem of the Republic of Belarus, framed by national ornament and inscriptions “РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ”, “ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ”, the year “2005”, and silver purity “Ag 925”. The reverse features a detailed panoramic view of Grodno with its historic fortress and Old Castle rising above the Neman River. Below the steep hill flows the river crossed by a bridge with riders, while the old city spreads across the opposite bank with towers, roofs, and defensive walls. Above the scene appears the coat of arms of Grodno with a deer standing over a walled gate, and the inscriptions “ГРОДНА” and “ГАРАДЫ БЕЛАРУСІ” complete the design. Struck in .925 fine silver and graded PCGS PR69, this coin unites artistry and national heritage, honoring Grodno as a cultural and architectural gem of Belarus.
