The Belarus 10 roubles silver coin 2012 is a special commemorative release marking the 150th Anniversary of Belarusian Railroads. The issue highlights both the historical heritage and modern achievements of the country’s railway system, which has played a key role in its industrial and social development. The obverse depicts a contemporary scene: a modern passenger train rushing along the tracks, set against the monumental glass-and-concrete facade of a railway station. Above are the inscriptions “РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ”, the national emblem, the year “2012”, denomination “10 РУБЛЁЎ”, and the silver fineness “Ag 925”. The reverse turns back time, showing a powerful steam locomotive of the 19th century with large wheels and a smoke funnel, set before a grand station building in neoclassical style with arches, pilasters and a central clock. The surrounding legend reads “БЕЛАРУСКАЯ ЧЫГУНКА” and “150 ГАДОЎ”. The contrast of old and new perfectly illustrates the evolution of Belarusian transport through a century and a half. Struck in sterling silver with Prooflike finish, this coin is both a miniature work of art and a tribute to progress.
