The 1983 Barbados 25 Dollars silver coin, graded PR70 DCAM by PCGS, was issued to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The obverse shows the national coat of arms of Barbados: a shield with a bearded fig tree, supported by a pelican and a dolphin, topped with a knight’s helmet and crossed sugar cane stalks. The national motto Pride and Industry is placed on a ribbon below, while the inscriptions Barbados and the year 1983 with trident symbols appear around the border. The reverse, carrying the denomination 25 Dollars, is dedicated to royal regalia. At the top stands the St. Edward’s Crown, beneath it the Sovereign’s Orb, while two ceremonial sceptres are crossed diagonally across the field. Around the edge runs the inscription 30th Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II Coronation with the dual dates 1953 – 1983. Struck in silver with a flawless Proof Deep Cameo finish, this rare issue unites the heritage of Barbados with the enduring legacy of Elizabeth II’s reign. Certified PR70 by PCGS, it is a true gem for collectors of royal and Commonwealth commemoratives.
