The 2008 Armenia 100 Dram silver coin from the “Conservation Red Book” series highlights a rare reptile of the Caucasus – the Toad Agama (Phrynocephalus helioscopus persicus). On the reverse, the lizard is depicted in motion across a rocky landscape with tufts of desert grass, its curved tail and textured body carefully engraved to emphasize its natural appearance. The Latin name encircles the top, while the Armenian inscription is placed below, marking its scientific and cultural significance. The obverse features the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia, supported by a double-headed eagle and lion, with the national shield at the center. Around it are the inscriptions Republic of Armenia, 100 Dram, and the year 2008. Struck in silver with a refined Prooflike Deep Cameo finish, this piece has been certified PCGS PR68DCAM, confirming its authenticity and collectible quality. Part of a limited mintage, it embodies Armenia’s dedication to biodiversity and conservation.
