The Albania 25 Leke silver coin of 1970 is a commemorative issue celebrating the legacy of Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, Albania’s national hero and symbol of resistance. The obverse shows a vivid composition titled Dance with Swords: two traditional Albanian warriors perform a martial dance, holding sabers aloft in a spirited display of courage and unity. Behind them rise rugged mountains, a reminder of the homeland that inspired Skanderbeg’s victories. The inscription Shqipëri – Albania crowns the scene. The reverse features the coat of arms of the Socialist People’s Republic of Albania, with the double-headed eagle framed by wheat stalks, topped with a star, and a ribbon marked 24 Maj 1944. Stars encircle the design, with the denomination 25 Leke and the year 1970 placed at the bottom. Struck in silver and graded PR68DCAM by PCGS, the coin shows deep cameo proof quality, with frosted motifs contrasting against mirror-like fields. A significant collector’s piece combining national identity, folklore, and historical commemoration.
